Day 11 to 15 - San Francisco

Day 11 - From Yosemite to San Francisco

Drove round Yosemite in the morning... found 1 peaceful corner, sat there, eating left over cracker, coke.. so shiok.

From Yosemite to San Francisco took us about 5-6 hours. Stopped over at a KFC with A&W restaurant.
Reached San Francisco around 6-7pm. Checked in to Columbus Motor Inn. 4 of us in a room. Agnes booked it.. so still dont know how much is it per night. Parking and hotel in San Francisco is more expensive then LA, hollywood and LV.

Hotel was ok... not bad. Location was near to Fisherman wharf. temperature at SF is lower than the other cities. To Fisherman wharf is around 10-15mins. SF seems to be much safer than LA. so actually of all, i like SF the most. have been hearing from friends that i must try clam chowder in FW. there are quite a few pier ... most popular is FW 39. and we have these for dinner.
Clam chowder in sour dough. But its really nice leh. yummy. Actually, parking is not that expensive provided you gave validation chop from restaurant.

Day 12: this day, we decided to take public transport. 1 day pass for $9, per trip is $3. we also calculated, we must at least take 4 trips. start our morning at Chinatown. See... see.... SF is so beautiful.

I even find Chinatown very nice. very 'chinatown', authentic.
After taking shared breakfast, we saw a few tim sum shops... very crowded with little seatings. they even have all u can eat at $5+. sean says he can eat again... but the rest of us really cannot make it.. no more space for more food. next we saw a tim sum shop looks GOOD!! we decided to buy some to take-away. Sean went in and starts to ... i want 'this this this this and this...' hahaa....think he forgot we just took our breakfast. agnes and me looked at each other... and laughed.. 'he still very hungry ah'. ha. before going states, sean already told me not to stop him from eating. he's going to eat and eat alot of junk food there. He finished it within 15mins.
Its not a good idea to stay in SF in old age. seeing the elderly at chinatown walking up the slope with their shopping bag, so breathlesss.. holding on to a pole, trying to hold their breath, then continue to walk on.

next, we start to shop again at the famous Union Sq. we have the map of union square's boutique.. it has EVERYTHING!! shopping paradise. if you realise, i didnt take much picture of the shopping area.... you know why?? i'm too busy shopping area... forgot all about taking photos.s.s.s.ss..s.s.ss. no time!

Agnes and me managed to tell the guys to meet us at later time while we can shop without pressure. think the guys spent their time in bookshop :-) with the map and limited time, we have to prioritise. haha. but still cant missed Gap. Walked in and spent alot time there... haha... bought few baby wear for eunice's baby at less than $5 each. time's up.. we rushed to the meeting point - Abercombie and fitch. haha... just that few minutes stressless shopping. time flies.. sian! shopping list from friends for Aber. sean found a seat and sat outside the store for at least 1.5hrs. poor boy. i have to on and off, walked over to him and pat on his head and walk back to the shop. ha. have to do tat before he raise his blood pressure. kekeke...

weather wasnt good during our stay. it rained everyday. we have to stay indoor. so sad.

Cheesecake Factory restaurant. WOW! they serves super nice nice cheese cake. quite ex. $6.95 per pc, but its really nice nice nice! very smooth cheese.

http://www.thecheesecakefactory.com/ highly recommand.

Dinner at Japan town. had shabu shabu buffet at about $26 per pax, include noodle, side dish, unlimited beef, pork, chicken, vege, dont tink we can have that price in sgp.
Day 13: driving day. a ex-colleauge intro sean to a place out of SF. opps.. i forgot the nameo f the place.. think starts with 'm' or 'f'.. hahahaaa... forgot liao lah. took us about 2 hrs to get there. its something like santa barbara. on our way there, GPS gone abit 'short' and lead us to no where... but then... we saw some interesting houses... Halloween night 31st Oct is popular in states.. everywhere sells pumpkin and costume..

next we stopped over for hypermarket. ... dont know where is it.. think its some neighbourhood town area. its a wise move. saw these... 'TREAT or Trick' on each boutique doors.. they are celebrating Halloween. the kids will go round collecting chocolates. so we suppose, if there's no treat from the store, the kids will have to trick them. maybe! dontknow.

HOT DOG BUN!

We were lucky... there were few things that we didnt plan for.. but we get to experience more. first was the hollywood sign... drove around looking for a good place for photo.. we found few nice house. next, we didnt plan for santa barbara for lunch, but somehow we lost our way, and ended up going there in the day. if we were the at night time, we wont be able to see beautiful santa barbara beach. next is this place.. else we will not be able to see so many happening halloween costume.

that night we wanted to have a good Golden Bridge shot. and me again didnt check out where is the spot.... so we just drove around trying to go as near to the bridge.. and we are quite lucky to explore and found the 'tourist spot'. but its too dark at night, so we tot we can come back the night day in the morning... who knows the next day, it rained the whole day.. so sian! this is the best shot we had after many try and error. ... should have bought a tripod along.

Day 14: Rainy day.

Last full day in States, went italian area for breakfast, hoping to find italian style breakfast. nice place again. we saw a shop with queue even on a rainy day. .. must be very good. Too bad, 4 of us do not have the patience.

There's a very nice catheral in SF. From far, we could see the tower. was always wondering where is tat.. its open for public. catheral always gave me a sense of peace. only i am interested, the 3 of them waited in the car.
its still drizzling after breakfast.. we drove up the tower for a nice view.
think that island is alcatez island. hmm.... see .. its quite cloudy. this monent, it dry, next monent when we are ready for photo, it starts pouring.
Cant go anywhere... we went Levi's plaza. too bad its closed for the day. went chocolate factory,.. but that building seems to be gone. drove past this popular chocolate brand, we stopped over for sundae on a cold cold day. guess wat... our purchase was $2-3 lesser for validation.. and we ended up paying $8 for less than 1 hr parking. this was the most ex parking we had.
Next, drove to Lombard Street. It's billed as the world's crookedest street. there were quite alot of cars... as suah ku as us!
Dinner ... was seafood packed back to hotel. its slightly cheaper and we think its quite a good idea.. can eat and watch tv. drove to fisherman wharf for seafood.
took this from our hotel room.. Bimbo Pub, Coit tower, catheral...
Spent our last evening shopping. the guys gave us 3hrs off.. while they spent their time in the bookshop again... thanks god that there's bookshop in this world :-)
Dinner was at Cheesecake factory.. we cant forgot the last cheesecake and decided to have a complete meal and another round of cheesecake or we will regret. but then .. we were too full for cake after meal.. packed back to hotel.
Enjoying the last night at SF. will definitely miss this place.
Day 15: weather not too good.. rushed to Golden Bridge for the last shot before going airport.

this was the first and last picture the 4 of us took together. haiz... finally we ended this trip and back to reality.
But nevermind, its time to plan for another new holiday next year :-)
